Description of the flag

The town of Richmond is in Washington County, Rhode Island, and traces its history to 1747 when it was separated from the neighboring town of Westerly by an act of the General Assembly of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. It is the only town in Washington County that does not border another county or the ocean, according to the town's Wikipedia entry (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richmond,_Rhode_Island).

The flag of the town of Richmond, Rhode Island, features the town seal in dark blue centered on a white field. The town seal is white with the outline of a single-story house in the center. Above the house is arched the word "INCORPORATED" while below the house is the date "1747." In the ring that borders the circular seal are the words "RICHMOND" and "WASHINGTON COUNTY, RHODE ISLAND".

Police flag

On the Richmond Police Department's website, I found several photographs of the police department's honor guard marching in the March 2012 St. Patrick's Day parade (www.richmondpd.org/community.htm). The honor guard can be seen carrying the American flag, the Rhode Island flag, and the Richmond town flag.
