The Town

The town of Sunset Beach (1,824 inhabitants; 14.9 sq. km) located in North Carolina is, of course, much less famous that the Californian beach community portrayed in the NBC "Sunset Beach" soap opera. Sunset Beach is famous for its a pontoon bridge, a wooden structure than can only hold one lane of traffic at any given time,

Quoting the municipal website:

"Established at the southernmost tip of the state, Sunset Beach is the smallest and quietest of three barrier islands which together, make up the modestly famed South Brunswick Islands. An uncommon coastal scene, this small sequestered island is crowned with a naturally wide, gently sloping, white sandy beach and a shroud of undisturbed sand dunes. This unadulterated setting is a natural habitat and nesting ground for the abundant coastal wildlife, including the endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtle."

The flag

Reporting in "The Wilmington Star", 26 December 2006, staff writer Angela Mack incidentally wrote: "Sunset Beach and Southport have had an official flag for more than 10 years."

The emblem of Sunset Beach, which might be shown on the municipal flag, is shown on the municipal website, portraying the sea, a sunset and a white gull.

The flag is a white field with the town seal in the center.

The seal depicts a sun rising over the Atlantic ocean with a gull flying leftwards in front of the sun.

Another version of the flag: https://fire-station.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/sunset-beach-fire-department-1.jpg shows the seal in light colors on a blue field.
There's also this one from 2013. I don't know if it's a fire flag or a city flag. https://www.google.com/maps and

The central emblem in that image from 2013 looks more police-related than firefighter-related.
