The municipality of Çüngüş (13,544 inhabitants in 2012, 2,439 in the town of Çüngüş; 47,001 ha) is located 110 km north-west of Diyarbakir.

The flag of Çüngüş (photo; video) is white with the municipality's emblem in the center. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".

The emblem features the Karakaya Dam, a concrete arch-type dam with a height of 187 m and a crest length of 462 m. With planned 1,800 MW capacity, the Karakaya Dam was completed in late 1988.
