Overview

JSC (Joint Stock Company) Salyut) (АО (Акционерное общество) "Салют") was first established in the 1930s as Kuibyshev Mechanical Plant, later to be renamed Central Mechanical Plant, to provide the Kuibyshev Reservoir (now Samara) with structures, mechanisms and metallic equipment. This changed dramatically due to World War II and by Decree of the State Defense Committee of the USSR of December 25, 1941 and by Order of the People's Commissariat of Defense of the USSR of December 31, 1941, the Kuibyshev Mechanical Plant of the People's Commissariat of Aviation Industry was established and was assigned number "207".

On it was awarded the Order of the Red Star which is sometimes featured on the flag variant.

It became part of Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation in 2004.
