The University of Novi Sad (Универзитет у Новом Саду; Univerzitet u Novom Sadu) was established on 28 June 1960. It is composed of 14 faculties, 9 of which are situated in Novi Sad, 3 are situated in Subotica, one is situated in Zrenjanin and one in Sombor.

The flag of the university is white with the university emblem in black. It was viewed during the ongoing anti-corruption protests in Serbia: on 2025-01-31, the students from Novi Sad brought the flag to the Varadin Bridge over the Danube River, where they officially welcomed their colleagues from Belgrade, who marched from one city to the other to join the blockade of all bridges in Novi Sad, which begun the next day and lasted for 27 hours (24 hours for the blockade itself and the remaining 3 for the cleanup, which is becoming the integral part of the protest events). The representatives of two universities have exchanged the flags of their respective cities and universities on a red carpet set for that purpose on the bridge.
