Meaning:
The golden seat (cátreda) is a canting element. The commune's name is derived from the Latin words "sella" (= seat) and "regis" (= of the king). It refers to the origin of the commune and the golden colour is symbolizing richness, purity and imperial power. The flax plants are representing the importance of manufacturing linen in the past and today. The boat and punt are representing the former ferries, crossing the Lima River and transporting men, cattle and cargo until bridges had been erected. The base wavy is symbolizing Lima River. The shield's red colour is symbolizing force and vital energy of the locals, and also the protection of the socially disadvantaged.
