    Meaning:
This toponym is, in its singular form ("cótimo";), an unusual surname, recorded among Portuguese nobility since the 16th century and likely sharing an origin with the Coëtmen lineage of Brittany, given their identical family arms — Gules nine annulets Argent. These family arms were not integrated in any way into the communal arms.
