Shield Azure, a triplemount issuant Or from a base wavy Azure, two arrows Argent tied Gules crossed per saltire, in central chief a disc radiant Argent tierced by a fessy lance Or and charged with the bleeding wounds of Christ Gules set in quincunx. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "COUSSO - MELGAÇO".

Flag and arms were approved on 6 April 2006 by Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses (CHAAP) and adopted by the local assembly on 30 December 2006.

Cousso Commune is one of the 13 communes of the Melgaço municipality (q.v.); it had 294 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 7.1 km².
