Shield Or, a gate Sable, in chief two postal horns Gules tied Sable ordered per fess, in base a lizard Vert, armed and eyed Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ALGODRES VALE DE AFONSINHO E VILAR DE AMARGO".
Meaning:
The charges are representing the pre-2013 communes: the gate Algodres, the horns Vale de Afonsinho and the lizard Vilar de Armago.
