It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and black.

Shield Vert divided by a saltire Sable fimbriated Argent, superimposed by a milestone Argent, in base a bar wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CARREGADO"
Meaning:
The green colour is symbolizing agriculture as economic base of the commune. The saltire is symbolizing the important crossroads passing Carregado, connecting Lisboa, Leiria, Coimbra, Porto, Santarém, Abrantes and Beira Alta. The stone is representing the many milestonesi n the area, unique in the whole country. Some have been copied and exhibited in the C.T.T. Museum. The bar wavy is representing Tejo River.

Carregado Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Alenquer Municipality (q.v.); it had 11 707 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 15.1 km².

Shield Vert, in chief two Corinthian capitals Argent, in centre a bowl Or bordured Purpure and filled with grapevines Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CADAFAIS - ALENQUER".
Meaning:
The green colour is symbolizing agriculture. The commune has many archaeological troves, among those two marvellous Corinthian capitals. The bowl is representing viticulture and is referring to an exemplar with inscription, donated by King Dom Carlos on occasion of visiting the commune.
