Shield Vert with base wavy of Argent and Azure, in chief three flax blossoms Argent, ordered per fess, issuant from base a throughout bridge Or masoned Sable, having three arches. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "VILA COVA DE ALVA".
Meaning:
The base wavy is representing Alva River.

Vila Cova de Alva Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Arganil Municipality; it had 513 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 12.7 km².
