Gmina Ruciane-Nida is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Pisz County,
Warmian-Masurian Voivodship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of
Ruciane-Nida, which lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) west of Pisz
and 71 km (44 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Area: 357.74 sq.km (138.1 sq.mi); Population: 8,627 (2006).
Established in 1502 by Jakub Rataj
Well developed tourist and sport center in the Masurian Lakes Region.
Has city rights since 1966.
Arms and flag adopted on July 27, 2004 (resolution # XXII/62/04).
"Arms: on the blue shield a golden factory building, white smoke, white
sailboat with the golden stripe and a green leaf.
Flag: white rectangle in the ratio 5:8 with Arms placed in the middle."
