The "Centro Latinoamericano de Administración para el Desarrollo"
(English: The Latin American Center for Development Administration) is
an international organization of a regional nature created to promote
the analysis and exchange of experiences and knowledge regarding the
reform of the State and the modernization of public administration in
member countries, through the organization of specialized meetings,
the publication of works, the provision of documentation and
information services, the conduct of studies and research, and the
execution of technical cooperation activities.
It was established in 1972 under the initiative of the governments of Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.
Its headquarters are located in Caracas, Venezuela, in accordance with
the "Ley Aprobatoria del Acuerdo de Sede entre el Gobierno de la
Rep blica de Venezuela y el Centro Latinoamericano de Administraci n
para el Desarrollo" (English: Law Approving the Headquarters
Agreement) between the Government of the Republic of Venezuela and the
Latin American Center for Development Administration (G.O. No. 2,718
of December 30, 1980).
