According to the 2016/18 statute, the flag should be like the drawing above, but the club uses various other designs in a green-yellow combination (below).
From Statute 2026/18
Article 4
(1) The distinguishing features of
NK Istra 1961 s.d.d. as a professional sports club are its crest (emblem), flag,
and colors.
(2) The Club’s crest is shield-shaped, with a rounded bottom
edge, and is vertically divided into two equal parts: the left side is green and
the right side is yellow. In the lower half, the name "Istra" appears in capital
letters; the color of the letters is the inverse of the color of the shield
section upon which they are placed, and the bottom of the lettering follows the
curve of the shield's rounded bottom edge. Above the name "Istra," in the
center, is the historical coat of arms of Pula, flanked on the left by the
capital letters "NK" and on the right by the year "1961." Incorporated into the
upper half of Pula’s historical coat of arms is a stylized image of the Pula
Arena, containing a soccer ball made up of regular pentagonal panels.
(3) The
Club’s flag is rectangular, with a length-to-width ratio of 2:1 and
green-and-yellow coloring; it is divided lengthwise into two equal parts – the
upper half green and the lower half yellow – with the Club’s crest positioned in
the center.
(4) The ceremonial flag of the Club is identical to the flag
described in Paragraph 3 of this Article, except that the color gold replaces
the color yellow.
