The municipality of Tisno (3,239 inhabitants in 2001, 1,377 in the village of Tisno) is located 20 km north of Šibenik, on both sides of a narrow channel between the coast and Murter island with a movable bridge inbetween. The name of the place means, more or less, "a narrow place".
Željko Heimer, 27 February 2005
The symbols of Tisno are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Tisno, adopted on 9 March 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 31 October 2001 in the County official gazette Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 13.
The symbols were subsequently approved by the Ministry of Justice, Administration and Local Self-Government. The approval does not include the wording that "the previous deficiencies have been corrected", which seems to be, more or less, standard part of such acts otherwise; I presume that the design was acceptable by the Ministry right from the beginning.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Tisno, adopted on 5 October 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 21 November 2001 in Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 15. This is repeated in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Tisno, adopted on 7 August 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 10 September 2009 in Službeni vjesnik Šibensko-kninske županije, No. 11 (text).
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

Flag and arms of Jezera - Images by Željko Heimer, 25 November 2016
The flag of Jezera (photos), a subdivision of Tisno (888 inh. in 2011), is light blue with the shield of the arms outlined white in which the place name is inscribed argent in the base.
The coat of arms of Jezera depicts in a celestial blue shield over a base
engrailed azure six sunrays issuant from a well argent in
chief a seagull volant. The shield is outlined red, surrounded dexter by a
branch of birch and sinister by a branch of pomegranate branch both proper. Beneath the shield a blue scroll outlined red and inscribed with the place name or. Located in a field, the well (photo, photo) appears to be a popular place of celebration.
