CC.OO. (website) since the 1970s has become the largest trade union in Spain. It has more than one million members and is the most successful union in labor
elections, competing with the UGT (historically affiliated with the PSOE), with the
CGT, usually a distant third,
the CGT being a breakaway of the CNT.

The flag of CC.OO. is red with the confederation's emblem, designed in 2005-2009 by Rafael Celda y Asociados (website). The agency also designed logos for
the Catalonian (four red squiggles on yellow, from the regional flag), Galician (light blue bar, from the regional flag) and Basque (four black sawpuzzle pieces - not a traditional emblem) branches of CC.OO (images).
"Comisiones Obreras" is Castillian for "workers' committees" and is
abbreviated "CC.OO.", with double initials and dots, in the way
plurals are usually abbreviated in Spanish typography and editorial
style.
