Symbols of Teba

The Municipality of Teba in the Province of Malaga, Andalusia, has its own symbols, but the dates of their adoption are unknown.

• Coat of arms:
  Description: Shield divided. First, five towers arranged in saltire. Second, a fruited tree with a bear rampant against its trunk. Crest: a count's coronet.
  Meaning: We have no record of the meaning or the colors of the coat of arms, which we have reproduced here according to one of the models used in the municipality. The second quarter can be attributed to the city of Madrid, although we do not know the reason for its appearance on this coat of arms. The count's coronet is justified by the fact that the County of Teba was created in 1522 in favor of Diego Ramírez de Guzmán. By 1878, the town was already using a seal with these elements, although it is not possible to determine which animal accompanies the tree.
