Symbols of Monda

The Municipality of Monda in the Province of Malaga, Andalusia, has its own symbols. The coat of arms was adopted by Ayuntamiento on 19.05.1978, but there is no date known for the flag.

• Coat of arms:
  Description: Per fess. First, gules, a gold castle with three towers, masoned sable and windows azure. Second, argent, two cauldrons chequered or and sable, each handle adorned with seven serpent heads vert, their tongues gules. A bordure chequered or and sable, in two rows. The crest is a closed royal crown.
  Meaning: The first quarter represents the castle still visible in the town. The second quarter displays the arms of the Pacheco family, Dukes of Escalona and Marquesses of Villena, to whom the town belonged from the reign of the Catholic Monarchs.
• Flag:
  Rectangular green flag. The municipal coat of arms is in the center.
