Symbols of Benadalid

The municipality of Benadalid has its own symbols. The coat of arms is approved by the General Directorate of Local Administration on 09.06.2017, and the flag is described in the Reglamento of Symbols of the Ayuntamiento issued on 07.12.2017 (source: costadelsolmalaga.org)

  • Coat of arms:
Description: On a field of azure, a silver castle with a silver cartouche above its gate, on a green terrace.
Note: [ by Simbolos de Malaga]: We do not include the official description because it is very flawed and leads to confusion.
Meaning: The castle, of Roman origin and declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC), is known as "the castle of the four towers" (although only three appear on the coat of arms). Above the gate is a plaque with the name of Philip IV and the date 1835 (although these details do not appear on the coat of arms). Currently, the castle is used as a cemetery.
  • Flag:
Description: White cloth bearing the municipal coat of arms in the center, with the inscription "AYUNTAMIENTO" above it in black letters and "BENADALID" below it
