Shield Azure a beehive Or on top of a stomp of the same surrounded by 43 bees of the same.
Meaning:
Beehive and bees are symbolising the diligence of the local farmers. The pattern is known since 1748, but the papers describing the arms had been incomplete. At the beginning of the 20th century there had been attempts, to replace the pattern by symbols of mining and agriculture. The Main State Archive in Dresden refused those attempts, as the oldest known pattern should always be included.

Shield parted per fess; above Argent between two mountains Vert an oak of the same trunked Sable accompanied by three birds volant Sable; beneath parted per fess, at dexter Argent hammer and mallet Sable in saltire, at sinister rake and scythe Sable in saltire.
Meaning:
The lower half is symbolising mining, represented by hammer and mallet, and agriculture, represented by rake and scythe, as main business lines. The upper half is derived from the old village seal, which displayed two oaks between rocks. The oaks are referring to the Eichelberg (=mount of oaks). The mounts had been depicted as two bunches of rocks, referring to the local stone quarries. In Vielau green and red jasper had been depleted. The birds are alluding to the three swans in the city arms of Zwickau. They are symbolising that the city of Zwickau bought a local estate in 1608 and gained also the local high level cognisance.
