Shield quartered, 1st and 4th quarter Vert, four bezants in bend, 2nd quarter Or a Dutch windmill Gules, 3rd quarter Or three bars wavy Azure.
Meaning:
The bezants are representing the eight municipalities of Holtriem. They are also alluding to the golden bowls of Terheide, which had been found in 1872. The mill is alluding to the many windmills, which had been in the area in the past. The bars wavy are representing a local lake called Ewiges Meer (literally: eternal sea). The green colour is symbolising nature and agriculture.
The arms were approved on 18 April 1975

According to this online catalogue the eight municipalities mentioned above, have no proper flags. They are: Blomberg, Eversmeer, Nenndorf, Neuschoo, Ochtersum, Schweindorf, Utarp and Westerholt.
