Wald Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Sable a bend chequered of Argent and Gules, at sinister Argent, a pierced lozenge Gules, issuant from base a triplemount Vert.
Meaning:
The chequered bend, known as Cistercian bend, is alluding to the local monastery of Cistercian nuns. The sinister half displays the punning arms of its founder Burkhard of Weckenstein, which means "lozengy stone" or "lozengy rock", however in changed colours due to heraldic rules. Both arms were combined in 1930 by Father Tutilo of Beuron and his draft was adopted by the municipality. The flag colours are those of Hohenzollern.

The banner was approved on 6 August 1976 by Sigmaringen county administration and published in GABl 315/1977.
