Description of flag:
The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a yellow over blue horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms shifted to the hoist.
Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field is a golden (=yellow) castle. It is a simplified version of that one of the former city of Burgsteinfurt without drawbidge and brickwork and with linear walls. The towers are topped by the new cities flags without
coat of arms. The shield has a golden (=yellow) chief showing the nine lozenges of the former city of Borghorst.
The flag was approved on 16 January 1978.

Description of banner:
The ratio is 5:2. It is a vertical yellow and blue bicolour with the coat of arms shifted to the top.
The banner was approved on 16 January 1978.

The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a yellow over red horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms in its centre.
Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (=yellow) shield is a red castle with three towers, each
topped by the cities flag without coat of arms. The castle has an open
gate with black portcullis, a drawbridge and rounded walls with brickwork.
