Shield Gules, a throughout silhouette Argent of an embattled castle Argent, charged with the silhouette Sable of a 3-level well, in chief four acorned oak leaves Argent.
Meaning:
The stone wall refers to the local Friedewald Castle and the fountain in base is a local well. Together these are the landmarks of the village of Friedewald. The four oak leaves are representing the four villages in the municipality as well as the forests in the area. They are also referring to the old '1000-year oak' in the village. The colours are those of the lion of Hesse.
