Description of coat of arms:
In a silver(=white) shield is a blue heraldic rose seeded golden(=yellow).
Meaning:
According to source the rose is of original type, i.e. not barbed. To distinguish from the rose of the sovereign its colour had been changed early from red to blue. The traditionally used coat of arms was approved officially by Regierungspräsident Detmold on 12 January 1972.
