Shield Argent a gonfanon Gules fringed Or, flanked in chief by two linden leaves Vert in fess and in base by a fleur-de-lis Gules.
Meaning:
The gonfanon is alluding to the Counts of Montfort, who had the high level cognisance until 1780. The leaves are alluding to the Imperial City of Lindau. In 1476 the village was acquired by the city. The fleur-de-lis is part of the personal arms of the poet Herrmann Lingg, born 1822 in Lindau and died 1905 in München. He was a member of a poetry circle lead by Emanuel Geibel and he had close relationships to Hergensweiler. He was ennobled in 1890 and on this occasion his personal arms were granted.
