Shield Or with base Azure, topped by a horse forcene Sable.
Meaning:
The village was bought in 1592 by the Lords of Gemmingen, who built a castle in 1602. They ruled the village as members of the Imperial Knights Board (Reichsritterschaft) of the Kraichgau district until 1806. A court seal of Rappenau from 1820 already displayed the horse, which had been taken from the family arms of the Gemmingen kin. In 1901 the coronet on top of the shield was omitted. That pattern was considered to be "unheraldical" and replaced in 1957 by the current pattern. The colours gold and blue had been taken from the arms of the Gemmingen kin. The black horse (German: Rappe) was a canting element.

The arms were approved in 1957 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg.
