Compagnie Maritime Zaireoise in Kinshasa has a green flag, with orange
disk in centre with letters "CMZ" in yellow. Image after Brown's Flags and Funnels of Shipping Companies of the
World, compiled by J.L. Loughran, Glasgow, 1995.

I saw this one in Antwerp once - it may have been locally produced -
with thin black letters, italic, and too far away to see if there were
any dots. It wasn't on a ship, but on the top of the building where the
agent (CMB if I'm not mistaken) had his office.

The name should be "Zaïreoise". The
'i' dieresis is required for
correct pronunciation "za-i-rwas"; without it, it would be very similar
to "there was".
In spite of the change in the country name to République Démocratique
du Congo, the name of the company does not seem to have been changed.
It was once a state company, which experienced a lot of problems.
According to Jean-François Ploquin (Plein Droit, #18-19, October 1992),
the company owned 10 ships in 1983 but its last two ships were seized
in Antwerp (July 1991) and Zeebrugge (January 1992). I don't know what
happened next.
