Description of arms (German): In goldenem Schild der heilige Alban von Mainz, weiß-schwarz gekleidet, einen abgeschlagenen Kopf in der rechten und ein nach unten zeigendes Schwert in der linken Hand haltend. [1]
Blazoning of arms (English): Or, Saint Alban of Mainz habited Argent and Sable, holding a decapitated head in his dexter and a sword in his sinister hand.
Adoption date of arms: seal granted 1691

The more frequently used version (also on the flag) of the arms shows a naturalistic depiction of a statue of St. Alban. The heraldic literature, especially [kfb95] shows more heraldic, stylized versions of the Saint.
