An entry into the Second Amendment/Gun Control protest is this Texas flag combining itself with the text from the historical Gonzales Banner of 1835 and replacing the original cannon with a AR-15 M4 assault rifle.

The flag features a black silhouette of an AR-15 / M-16 rifle on the upper white bar of the flag, with the muzzle of the rifle pointing toward the fly. Below it, in the red bar, were the words "COME AND TAKE IT" in white capital serif letters, in reference to the Gonzales Banner from 1835.

The Texas "Don't Tread On Me" Flag obviously combines the Texas flag with the Revolutionary War Gadsden Flag. Two variants are available on line, One has the text in black, the other uses gold text. The version above of this Texas Gadsden flag was flown by members of the United Steelworkers on strike at the Motiva plant in Port Arthur, Texas, in February of 2015. Port Arthur is the home of the United States' largest oil refinery.
