In [noh90] (facsimile of a 1848 flag chart), this is numbered and labelled «215 Portuguese War»; as the above, except with over it a pennant white-red-white approx. 1:2:1.
A vertical division line through the middle is visible, which might have allowed colouring the hoist blue, which would change it to the 1830 second design (maybe the authors didn’t know how to handle these two designs either (or maybe the person colouring the images thought he knew what this flag looked like).

King João V (1706-1750) used the portuguese coat of arms on
crimson, according to [coe08].
António Martins, 28 Sep 1997
In [noh90] (facsimile of a 1848 flag
chart), a flag numbered and labelled «214 Standard of Portugal»
is as the royal standard, except the border around the
shield is yellow.
