Ferreira do Alentejo is a medium sized town, capital of a municipality with 648,25 km² and 7684 inhabitants in 2021 in four communes;.
It is located currently in the Beja district and once belonged to the Baixo Alentejo province.
It indeed had had four communes since 2013 — a fact I could never predict back in 1998, when it had six.
