Wanneperveen [former municipality]

Wanneperveen is a former municipality in Overijssel province; the first flag was probably used on the occasion of Queen Wilhelmina's 50 years reigning jubilee. It consists of the Overijssel provincial flag (at that time: horizontal red - yellow - blue), with in the canron the municipal arms. The three candles probably symbolize the three parishes in the municipality: Wanneper, Wanneperveen, and Dinksterveen. The Coat of Arms used to have the motto: Lux lucet in tenebris, the light shines in darkness, which was officially restored in 1958.

Wanneperveen 1962 flag

Wanneperveen is a former municipality in Overijssel province; the first flag was probably used on the occasion of Queen Wilhelmina's 50 years reigning jubilee.
In 1962 a new design was made: gironny of blue and red in seven pieces, where the red has a narrow white fringe.
This flag was designed before the municipal reorganization in Northwest Overijssel, but was never officially adopted. In 1973 Wanneperveen became part of the municipality of Brederwiede; that in its turn was made part of Steenwijk in 2001; in 2003 the new municipality of Steenwijkerland was created.

Wanneperveen village flag

[Wanneperveen village flag] by Jarig Bakker, 25 Oct 2003

On the Wanneperveen homepage is the announcement that a new villageflag is on offer for € 25.
They write:
"The first flag consisted of three equallt wide horizontal stripes red - yellow - blue; in the canton over half of flagheight, a blue field with three yellow candlesticks, with white candles and red flames. In 1962 a new flag was designed (...) which was not officially adopted in 1970.
At the occasion of the 700 years of Wanneperveens existence the Feast Committee decided adopt a new "Wanneperveense vlag" based on the first flag, with the Coat of Arms taken out of the canton and replaced in the flagcenter.
I assume the Wanneperveense villageflag looks thus like this.
