Blankenham had (1968) 450 inhabitants and a cannon used for warning
against flooding, last used 2 Apr 1930.
Flag: three equally wide horizontal stripes of red - yellow - blue
with in the canton the municipal arms.
This flag were probably designed for the celebration of Queen Wilhelmina's
40 years reign (pattern: the provincial flag with the
municipal arms in the canton.).

Kuinre had (1968) 900 inhabitant, at the mouth of the Kuinder river.
Kuinre is a very old village, with a Latin name Cunera; a fort was laid
out here, and it only resulted in a lot of trouble, with irregulare gangs
of Geldersen, Friezen, Drenthen, Spaniards and Bomm'n Berend van Galen
of Munster plundering the village and countryside. The first fort was built
c. 1165, demolished in the 13th century; a second one was built in the
14th century and demolished in the 16th. Some evil minded persons say that
the fortress was a pirate's nest...
