The flag of the village of Geesteren is not known exactly since when it has been in use. It is known that the flag is derived from the associated village coat of arms, which were adopted in 1818. Geesteren then formed its own municipality.

The Geesteren flag shows the coat of arms centrally against a white background. The coat of arms is derived from a stone from Mensinck Castle and shows a lying crescent moon surmounted by a six-pointed star. Mensinck Castle was located in Geesteren and was inhabited by the Mensinck (or Mensing) family.
