Founded in 2003, the University of Luxembourg is the only public university of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The University has
1,420 academic staff (including doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, research associates and others) supporting 268 professors, assistant professors and lecturers in their teaching
Close to European institutions, financial institutions and leading industry players, the University has three faculties (The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine;
The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance;
The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences), three campuses (Belval Campus, Kirchberg Campus and Limpertsberg Campus), three interdisciplinary centres (The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust;
The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine; The
Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History).
Programmes are generally taught in two languages French/English or French/German, some in three and some entirely taught in English. Academic staff originates from 94 different countries. There are 6,783 students originating from 130 different countries
