Located in Minato City Tokyo and established in 1949. The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark green background with a gold emblem and vertically written gold kanji institute name in gold fringe. The institute flag has dark green background with a white emblem in the center. Shibaura Institute of Technology's traditional site, Shibaura, is located on the shore of Tokyo Bay. The students studied in a school building close to the sea, where the scent of the sea wafted through the air. The emblem of Shibaura Institute of Technology, adopted in 1949 when the institute was recognized as a university, consists of a central capital letter "大學" with a wave below. The design expresses the dynamic and growing spirit of Shibaura Institute of Technology, which is blessed with an excellent location. It is said to be the joint work of Shinta Matsunawa, the first president of Shibaura Institute of Technology, and Motohide Miura, the former director general.
