Located in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture and established in 2005. The embroidered ceremonial flag has dark red background with a gold emblem and horizontally written kanji university name in gold, fringe in gold. The university flag has white background with a dark red emblem in the center. The emblem is a fresh and powerful design combining the initials "H" of Prefectural University of Hiroshima and the prefectural tree (flower) "Maple leaf" in dark red, the color of the prefecture, to express the basic philosophy of Prefectural University of Hiroshima . Designed by Shinya Yomogi (Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture).
