Migdal HaEmeq (meaning tower of the valley) is
situated on the Nazareth Mounts, about 10 km from Nazareth , on both sides of the
Haifa-Nazareth road, 30 km southeast of Haifa.
The city looks over the Jizrael vally, hence the name. Est. 1953,
pop. 25'000.
The unofficial flag shows the emblem on a monochrome field. I
received a white desk flag, but I would not
be surprised to find other backgrounds. The letter I received
mentioned 1965 as the adoption date, however the municipal emblem
was published in the official gazette (Rashumot),
'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP
1001, 28 March 1963, for the then Local Council Migdal HaEmeq.
Sources: letter from Ms. Andrea Edri, chief of the
municipal general manager bureau, 4 August 2001; desk flag; this
webpage [retrieved].

In my visit of today, there were two variants in the streets.
The common one was white emblem on blue without inscription and
rarely seen is a variant with reversed colors.
Municipality of Migdal HaEmeq celebrates its 50 anniversary and
its streets are decorated with flags with the 50th anniversary
logo. The logo is combined of bold no. 50 (designed with stripe
inside each figure to make it doubled (like small zero inside big
zero) and the municipal emblem inside the inner zreo.
Colours are: white emblem on blue, blue on white, green on yellow
and green on white.
Migdal HaEmeq's name was given on Independence Day 1953 by the
2nd president of Israel, Yitzhaq Ben-Zvi. Municipality since
1988.
According to the official site at www.migdal-haemeq.muni.il [not retrievable],
the emblem includes:
Olive branch evidence of the many olive trees that grow in
the region
House on mountain side symbol for the way in which Migdal
HaEmeq was built on the sloops of Nazarath Mounts
Plowing plowed fields of Jezreel valley
Cogwheel industry and technology.
