Description

Local Council Kinneret is situated in the SE corner of the Kinneret Sea, south to Tiberias on Afula–Zemah road. Usually refered to as Kinneret-Moshava (meaning Kinneret Colony, as opossed to the nearby Kibbutz Kinneret), it was founded in 1908 and named by the Nobel Prize writer Shai Agnon. It has about 5000 inh.
In my visit I spotted no flags. I asked around and was told that in case of need an emblem on a variety of colours is used. So I drew the popular blue on light blue as only probable flag. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 890, 23 November 1961.

According to the list of united or dissolved local authorities published in the official gazette (Rashumot), section Sefer HaHukim 1897, 5 August 2003, Local Council.Kinneret was demoted to Local Committee and incorporated into Regional Council of Emeq HaYarden. The former Local Council flag could be in use – with a different inscription – as the local committee flag.
