Flag adopted 24 May 1867
Jorge Candeias, 18 Apr 2001
The border around the flag has to be black, as the society's colours are black, white, red. The cross is slighly different. Attached photograph (copyrighted!) from the society's URL.

From the DGzRS FAQ webpage:
The DGzRS flag was granted 24 May 1867 by Decree of the Chancellor of the then North German Confederation. Using the colours of this confederation, the flag shows the
Hanseatic cross as emblem. The flag can be seen in this picture of the DGzRS Zander rescue boat.
Santiago Dotor, 21 May 2002
Here is an enhanced version of the the DGzRS flag than is currently on de~dgzrs.html. The arms of the cross are broader. It is described as "Hanseatic Cross"; however it has the usual form of the Iron Cross.
I can't say, however, whether the width of the black rim is correct.
See also the society's homepage.

Quoting from the FAQ page (German only – translated): „Flag - The DGzRS flag with the red Hansa cross on white and black border is an official item of the Federal Republic of Germany’s flag handbook. To document the rescue fleet’s continuous readiness to act, it remains hoisted round the clock.”
For the society’s pennant, see url of on-line shop: http://www.dgzrs.de/index.php?id=7, select ‘DGzRS – Klassiker’ page 2: clickable photo showing pennant, art. no. 5020, dimensions given as ca. 20 cm x 30 cm, price 11.00 €.
A German eBay offer no. 190174809722 (end 12 Dec 2007) put up by “bergischerloewe06” shows the same pennant, giving dimensions as 19.5 cm x 34 cm.

The white flag has a black bordure. In the centre is a cross the way like an iron cross but red. (We could perhaps say a red, cotized cross patty)
