Friedrichshagener RV

[Friedrichshagener RV (RC, Germany)] image by Klaus-Michael Schneider, 22 Nov 2008

Name: Friedrichshagener Ruderverein e.V.
Located in: Berlin
Established: 13 June 1991
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 22 Nov 2008

Historical topics:
"Friedrichshagener Ruder-Verein von 1892 e.V." was, like any sports club after WW2, forbidden by allied control board. (the flag of that club is depicted at "Rudervereinigung Hellas-Titania Berlin e.V.") In 1946 "Kommunale Wassersportgruppe Friedrichshagen" was established, organized by the local municipality. Already in 1949 it was changed into a BSG, sponsored by lines of production (some details of that processing you can see at: "RG Rotation"). The club was renamed "BSG Helios" and sponsored by "Wissenschaftlich-Technische Abteilung". During the following years the club was renamed six times, among those renaming were "TSG Oberschöneweide, Abt. Wuhlheide" in 1967 and "BSG Fernsehelektronik" (= TV electronics) in the 80ies of the 20th century. After German reunion the club renamed itself 1991 into "Friedrichshagener Ruderverein e.V.". The suffix "von 1892" remained reserved for "RV Hellas-Titania Berlin e.V.", which kept the former club's traditions and most of its members. Since 1991 the club used its current flag.
So this club has nothing to do with Friedrichshagner Ruderverein 1892, which is a predecessor of nowadays Hellas-Titania.
Klaus-Michael Schneider, 4 Dec 2008

The flag is divided per bend sinister into white and red. In the upper hoist corner is a black logo consisting of the letters "F","R" and "V".
