Meaning:
The Anglo-Saxon Sola founded on a royal domain a cell before 754. He died 794 and bequeathed all his possessions to the Imperial Abbey of Fulda<7i>. The meaning of the municipality's name is: "near the houses of Sola". The upper half displays the arms of the abbey. The lower half displays the family arms of the Counts of Truhendingen, local rulers in the early Medieval.
