Marpingen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a wolf trap Argent, mantled Or charged with an eaglet Gules at dexter and a crowned lion's head Gules at sinister, chief dancetty Vert charged with a heraldic rose Or.
Meaning:
On 1 January 1974 the municipalities of Alsweiler, Berschweiler and Urexweiler were incorporated. Chief and rose are taken from the former arms of Marpingen proper. The eaglet, also a symbol for Lothringen, in modified tinctures was taken from the former arms of Alsweiler. The wolf trap was taken from the arms of Berschweiler. The lion's head is a differentiation of the Palatine lion, which appeared in the former arms of Alsweiler, Berschweiler and Urexweiler.
