It is a red-white-blue vertical tricolour with ratio of stripes 1:3:1. The coat of arms is in the middle of the white stripe.

Shield parted by a bend sinister Or charged with six beech leaves Vert, above right Gules a sea eagle volant Argent, beneath left Azure a carp Argent.
Meaning:
The carp is canting, as the municipality's name has a Slavic origin meaning "carp pond". The eagle is representing the Müritz Nationalpark, an UNESCO's world natural heritage. The leaves are representing local beech groves. Their number is alluding to the six vsettlement cores Carpin proper, Bergfeld, Georgenhof, Goldenbaum, Thurow and Zinow.
