Hattenhofen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a milestone Argent, mantled Argent, at dexter charged with a cross patty Gules with a plate in centre, at sinister charged with a fence Gules.
Meaning:
The blue tincture is referring to the fact that the village had been under direct rule of the Wittelsbach kin. The milestone is from times of the Romans. It was found in the 19th century. The cross patty is representing the Bridgettines, or Birgittines, officially the Order of the Most Holy Saviour (Latin: Ordo Sanctissimi Salvatoris (OSsS)). The Bridgetine Altomünster Nunnery owned large estates in the village. The fence is symbolising the former enclosure of the village.
