Lalling Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a bend Vert, charged with a tournament lance Or, above left a stone Sable, beneath right an apple Gules with leaves Vert.
Meaning:
The lance is an attribute of St. Maurice, patron saint of the Benedictine Niederalteich Monastery. Lalling was founded by the monastery and its name is derived from Abbot Lallo of Niederalteich. The monastery had been the most important manorial lord, until it was secularised in 1803. The bend with lance displays the personal arms of Abbot Ignaz Lanz of Niederalteich (1751-1764) and the lance is a canting element. The stone is an attribute of St. Stephen, the local patron saint. The apple is representing the so called Lalloinger Winkel, a large orchard. The tinctures yellow and green are those of the monastery.
