Description of the flag

The municipal flag of Whitecourt, Alberta features the town's coat of arms in the center between and black and green vertical colored areas representing the petroleum and forestry industries. Sagitawah is the Woodland Cree name for the Whitecourt region which means "the place where the rivers meet."
