The municipality of Campos Novos (33,312 inhabitants in 2012; 17,193 ha) is
located 350 km of Florianópolis.
The municipality is composed of the
districts of Campos Novos (seat), Espinilho (est. by Municipal Law No. 60
promulgated on 20 October 1900),
Dal Pai (est. by Municipal Law No. 175
promulgated on 21 August 1956),
Guarani (est. by Municipal Law No. 274
promulgated on 30 December 1948),
Ibicui (est. by Municipal Law No. 2,171
promulgated on 29 December 1995), Bela Vista (est. by Municipal Law No. 1,810
promulgated on 20 September 1991), Encruzilhada (est. by Municipal Law No. 2,590
promulgated on 03 April 2000), and Barra do Leão (est. by Municipal Law No. 941
promulgated on 31 December 1943).

The flag and arms of Campos Novos are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 229
promulgated on 1959.
Blue represents the sky and water, while white
represents peace.
The coat of arms features the municipality's sources of
income: Brazilian pine, wheat, horse, bovine and mechanized agriculture,
surmounted by a cross honoring God.
