South African Reserve Bank flag
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is the central bank of South Africa with
its headquarters located in Pretoria. It was established in 1921 and was the
fourth central bank to be established outside of the United Kingdom and Europe.
Unlike most other central banks, it is one of only eight central banks worldwide
that have shareholders other than the governments of their respective countries
(the others being Belgium, Greece, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Türkiye and the
USA).
The flag of the SARB has a white field with the bank's emblem in
gold in the centre with its full name written in black capitals below. For
marketing and advertising purposes, it also uses the colours in reverse (i.e. a
gold field with the emblem in white). A variant with a blue field defaced with
the emblem in white is also sometimes used.
